With the college hoops season right around the corner I thought it would be most appropriate to add this coaching legend and his trusty side kick.

Good night New York....
Curtis Martin called it quits this offseason. Curtis was great running back. He started his career with the New England Patriots. As a rookie Curtis rushed for 1487 yards and ran for 14 touchdowns. In his last full season, Curtis rushed for 1697 yards. That was good enough to lead the NFL in rushing. Curtis finished his career with 14101 career rushing yards, that put him fourth in NFL history.

A rare find...
I just bought this bobblehead on Ebay. This is the Danny Graves bobblehead the Cincinnati Reds gave away August 17, 2001. I am so happy that I was able acquire this bobblehead. This was one of the two Reds sga bobbleheads I did not have. Now I only need the Barry Larkin bobblehead from 2001 to have a comple set of the Reds sga bobbleheads.
Spotlight # 1
This Elton Brand bobblehead was given away on March 1, 2006. The Clippers beat the Hornets 89-67 that night. Elton finished the night with 25 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. The Los Angeles Clippers once were known as the Buffalo Braves. The team wore their Buffalo Braves throw back uniforms during the game. Most people that know me know that I like this bobblehead so much because of where Elton played his college ball.....Go Duke!!!

Coming soon....
It was suggested to me that I do a weekly "spotlight on a bobble". After careful consideration I will start that weekly post very soon. However, I want to give all three people that check out my blog the opportunity to guess the first bobble to be spotlighted. Here is a clue to get the guessing game started.
Look at the picture in my "Where it all began" post if you need a little help.
In the 1970's the team I currently play with were called the Buffalo Braves.
Email me if you think you have the answer.

A modern day classic
Coaching legend to bobblehead....
This is a bobble of former Northern Kentucky University (NKU) men's head basketball coach. This bobble was given away at the NKU v. Wayne St. Univ. game December 23, 2002.
In 16 seasons at NKU, Shields finished with a 306-170 career mark. His teams made the NCAA Division II national tournament seven times, including finishing as national runners-up in both 1995-96 and in 1996-97. Shields was named NCAA Division II National Coach of the Year in 1994-95.

Is Marvin Lewis on the "Hot Seat"????
I don't think Coach Lewis needs to be looking over his shoulder yet.....but I think his potential replacement has the look it takes to be a coach.
The Newest Addition....

Where it all began...
My collection of bobbles is currently at 89. I am expecting to add two more by the end of this week. My collection started in 2001 with the Cincinnati Reds SGA (stadium give away) Pete Harnisch bobble.
I recently contacted every MLB, NHL and NBA team (that had an email address or online contact form on their website) to ask if they would send me a recent SGA bobble. To date I have received one NHL(Tampa Bay Lightning), two NBA(Minnesota Timberwolves and Cleveland Cavaliers) and five MLB(Cincinnati Reds, Baltimore Orioles, Chicago White Sox, Texas Rangers and Toronto Blue Jays) bobbles. I will update this information if I receive any more. I really appreciate all of the teams that sent me a bobble. However, I want to give extra thanks to Jan Koshover from the Cincinnati Reds. I didn't make it to the Bronson Arroyo bobblehead game this year, so I contacted the Reds and spoke with Jan. I told her about my bobble collection and she graciously sent me a Bronson Arroyo bobble.
